The Midnight Vault was never intended to leave the prototype stage. In fact, according to internal records, it never officially existed at all. Yet somehow, several units appeared in circulation after a late-night engineering meeting that reportedly involved too much caffeine, an unreasonable amount of zirconium, and a whiteboard simply labeled:

"What if we made it cooler?"

The result was a deceptively simple rectangular slider featuring a precision spinner, tactile scroll wheel, and enough mechanical satisfaction to keep collectors occupied well beyond normal business hours.

Nobody knows exactly what the original purpose was.
